Scammel Pioneer Artillery Tractor
Another favourite vehicle of mine. The original Dinky Recovery Tractor is based on the later "Explorer" six wheel drive truck. I have taken the cab and rear chassis from that model and cast new parts to make the four wheel drive WW2 version.
Once I had made the moulds for the complete front end and the roof, I could also convert the Dinky Recovery Tractor into the Pioneer version.

A total of eight castings are needed for the conversion, five for the front end and cab, and three to make up the rear load space and cover. On the real artillery tractor, the cover is fixed, but I have cast it separately. This reveals the load space and in Dinky Toy play tradition, would have added to the play value.
