REME Half Track

Once I had built the basic versions of this much used vehicle, it seemed easy to move on to the post war REME variant.

​But this was not an easy build, although I think that the end result is worth the effort.

The crane cable is operated by the spare wheel and the jib self extends as the cable is wound in. The hook can be stored in the locker at the front of the raised top.

There are eight castings in this model, some are very fine and are difficult to produce. the base models are relatively expensive, and removing the original cast-in machine gun tower takes a lot of machining. All the work was worth the effort to add this to our Dinky army range.
