I have always liked the real vehicle but the French Dinky Half Track looked a bit sad. I thought it was time to put things right.
I have always liked the real vehicle but the French Dinky Half Track looked a bit sad. I thought it was time to put things right.
The French Dinky looked a bit low at the front and a bit "blind". So I cast a new baseplate to raise the wheel clearance and accommodate bigger tyres. Add into the mix new castings to open up the windscreen and sides, seats and the machine gun ring and surround. Cutting back the mudguards slightly gives a more authentic look.
while I was casting the new parts I thought I would just add one more to give a slight variation. the extra part was the roller fitted to many halftracks to help them cross ditches.
From the collection of parts several versions of the half track can be built. All are, I think, a great addition to the Dinky army.
