Daimler Ferret Mk 2
I originally wrote off the 70s Speedwheels toys as not worthy of displaying alongside the earlier Dinky army series. But I realised that despite a difference in scale, with a small amount of work it could look and feel like a toy from the 1960s.
The Mk 2 version had a turret fitted over the crew compartment. So a turret and an insert to cap off the cockpit and to provide a pivot plate for the turret were fabricated and then cast in white metal.

The axle holes were drilled and filed to take the earlier "proper" axles and wheels, and hub glued to take the spare. After the usual stripping and painting, all that was needed to finish the project was to add the new parts, and fit new rubber tyres and apply transfers.
