Alvis Stalwart
This load carrier was used by the British Army from the mid 50s to the 70s. The Dinky version was issued in 1972, but was slightly out of scale to the usual 1:60 army toys and had plastic speedwheels. To me, it didn't look or feel like a real Dinky.
To put it right I decided to give it the full treatment.

I recast the plastic undertray in white metal and added a post on which to fix a driver, relocated the axle holes to give a more realistic wheel clearance and added a mounting point for a towing hook.
The wheels used are the supertoy style as used on the Armoured Personnel carrier. I left out the windows, and optionally the model can be topped off with a tin canopy.

I use either tube axles with authentic looking end pins or original Dinky axles. New aluminium rivets are glued into place to hold the body to the chassis.
